The Effect:

The box is passed around amongst the audience who are invited to open it and put a selected item inside or remove one already in it.

Unless they are party to the secret the seemingly simple task they have been set will prove impossible and,therefore, utterly frustrating. Even when shown exactly how it is done, it remains a mystery.
